A smoother, faster, more touch-friendly build

UI refinements, enhanced touch support, and performance optimizations

Bigger Hit Targets

Section lines, waypoints, and track points now have larger hit areas, making everything easier to grab on the map.

Long-Press Menu

On touch devices you can now long-press to open the context menu.

Faster Routing

Routing is more responsive when you have many avoidance zones — only the necessary data is sent with each request.

Also in this release

A more responsive layout, especially the Map Legend on small screens · toggle municipality labels · check for updates from the Change Log · plus undo/redo and map-fit fixes.

Full release notes

This release focuses on improving the user experience through UI refinements, enhanced touch support, and performance optimizations.

Changes

  • Trip Builder Refactoring
    • I took some time to refactor some of the code in the builder itself. These changes should bring some improvements to the overall experience, and will also set us up for more improvements in the future.
    • I intend for these changes to be unnoticed in terms of the experience, but if you notice any bugs or issues, please let me know!
  • Trip Builder Interactions
    • I've increased the size and hitbox of some of the interactive elements on the map to make it easier to interact with them. This includes the section lines themselves, as well as the waypoints and track points.
  • Better coverage for touch interfaces
    • You can now use long touch to open the context menu on touch devices.
  • More responsive layout
    • Updated the layout of the app to be more responsive and work better on different screen sizes.
    • This is an ongoing effort, and more improvements will be made over time.
    • Notably the Map Legend should now work much better on smaller screens.
  • General Items
    • Routing should be a bit more responsive for users with many defined avoidance zones. Previously all avoidance zone data was being sent with each routing request, but now only the necessary data is being sent.
    • Added more tooltip details
    • Municipality labels can now be toggled
    • You can now use the Change Log UI to check for updates manually

Fixes

  • General Items
    • Undo/Redo should now properly track changes as they are being made - a recent change broke this functionality.
    • The map should fit the trip better at time of load
    • Labels for minor roads should now disappear when their correlated road types are toggled off
