Improved map styling and controls, section interval markers, smarter track-to-route conversion, and UX/performance improvements
Full release notes
Some nice new features have been added to this release. Be sure to check out the interval markers and the conversion of tracks to routes functionality and let me know how it works for you!
Changes
- A new Map Style quick selector
- Map Styles are now presented as a dropdown list to give you the ability to quickly change between the styles available to you. Click on it to open the Map Styles settings panel.
- Map styling
- Improved map styling to style brunnel (bridge/tunnels) more specifically
- Greatly improved park labels to provide a single label for each park, greatly reducing clutter.
- Improved map feature controls
- Now you have more power over what features and labels are shown on the map
- Section Interval Markers
- Interval markers have been added. Enabling the Section Interval Markers option in the Settings panel will cause them to be rendered at the distances you'd prefer.
- Improved conversion of Tracks to Routes
- A new approach to converting tracks to routes has been implemented. The feature will now attempt to add Track Points in areas that make sense by reviewing the path of travel and making decisions based on it. No routing is applied, and it's important to attempt to apply a routing profile to the Section, and update it to fit your needs.
- Filter Field Improvements
- Support for exact matching has been added
- Trip List Improvements
- When filtering in the Trip List, your filter will now be stored by your browser and will persist whatever value (or lack of value) is present.
- Headers in the Trip List can now be used to apply sorting.
- General Items
- Upload dialog UI improvements.
- Some minor logic clean up to improve performance.
- Added a "fade" effect to fade out sections that are not being edited during the design process to make it more clear what is being worked on.
- Apply public/private to imported GPX files based on the user's Default Trip Access setting.
- Improved section split logic to produce more reliable results.
- Added external links to the Context Menu to load sites like Google and OpenStreetMap for the position selected.
Fixes
- General Items
- Added missing tram category to align with rail styling on the map.
- Other map styling standardization updates.
- Routing wouldn't occur properly when moving Track Points
- Renaming of Trips in your Trip List wouldn't always update the UI properly.
