A sharper map, a stronger builder, and your say in what's next

This release starts with the map itself. All three styles are cleaner and easier to read, Pathfinder has a bold new look, richer hillshading with sharper relief and higher-detail terrain across the US, satellite imagery comes from a new source, and holding G peeks at the imagery beneath your map data. The Map Legend is now the single home for everything on the map, and public land roads glow with their camping status. The Trip Builder is stronger too, with a deeper undo and redo, a memory and performance rework, and a GPX pass that keeps real travel times and reads onX Offroad and Garmin files faithfully. And Rumo now has a place for your voice: a Community Board for feature requests and the roadmap, and Rumo Support for when something needs a fix.

  • All three map styles are cleaner, with less clutter and better readability, and Pathfinder has a bold new look
  • Richer Hillshading: sharper relief at high zoom, higher-detail terrain across the US, and shading that continues to full zoom instead of fading out
  • Improved Satellite imagery provides better detail
  • Imagery peek: hold G (or press and hold the satellite button under 3D terrain) to hide all map data and see the imagery underneath. Tap to keep it hidden; G, the button or Esc bring it back. Pan, Measure and Inspect keep working while it is hidden
  • Refined styling for minor and service roads, one-way arrows are visible again, and military zones are easier to see
• Map Legend, the single home for map data
  • Everything that lived in Map Settings (parks, land and camping, hazards) has moved to the Other tab in collapsible groups. Map Settings keeps the style picker, theme, hillshade and terrain height
  • Land Use (formerly Nature): each row carries its own opacity or width slider on its swatch, and Developed & Civic Land (formerly "Other land use") gains an opacity slider and an info button explaining what it covers
  • Roads: each road type carries its own width slider (50-300%), replacing the star and the "Enlarge by" slider
  • Public Land (Premium): a row per land manager, colored to match the BLM's own map
  • POI: every category is now available on every plan. Medical, Water and Scenic were previously Premium only
  • Gates & Barriers added to the Other tab
• Public Land Routes (Premium)
  • Public land roads now wear their camping status as a soft glow beneath the road to indicate possible camping opportunities
• Your voice in Rumo
  • Community Board: post feature requests, vote on and follow ideas, and see the roadmap
  • Rumo Support: file a report, follow the conversation with linked URLs and attachments, and close it yourself once it is resolved
  • Both live in the user menu of the Trip Builder
• A stronger Trip Builder
  • Undo and redo now reach 10 to 50 steps depending on available memory, with a warning color as you near the limit
  • A memory and performance rework, so trips with thousands of waypoints stay responsive
  • Trip view shows a green flag where each run of joined sections starts and a checkered flag where it finishes. Switch it off under General Settings with "Show start and finish flags"
  • Right-click (or long-press) a waypoint or Place in the list to open its action menu at the pointer
  • Edit a waypoint's or Place's coordinates in the editor to reposition it
  • Places Manager: UI and UX improvements, and the Type selector now supports icons and filtering
  • The merge section modal offers your preferred routing profile first
  • The Folder View filter now also searches trip descriptions
  • Trip exports over 100 trips are split into numbered ZIPs instead of being refused, and large exports no longer time out
• GPX import and export
  • Imported tracks now report real travel time and average speed from the recording's own timestamps, with stops excluded
  • Rumo now heals malformed GPX and tells you when it has, so the file loads cleanly in other apps such as DMD2
• Search
  • A globe icon shows you are searching everywhere. Tap it to limit the search to your current view
  • Results now weigh proximity and relevance
  • Searching for coordinates shows a circular reticle, and pasted coordinates parse more reliably
• Site
  • A design overhaul of the main pages, with a clean look and feel
  • A buffer at the top of the pages and app for devices affected by Apple's Liquid Glass design

Fixes

• Trip Builder
  • Importing into an open trip could crash, and importing a large GPX into Places failed with nothing saved
  • A trip with thousands of waypoints hung the Trip Builder
  • Connecting sections could crash or fail
  • Reversing a routed section appeared to do nothing, only its track points swapped
  • A saved preference could crash the Trip Builder on load
  • Routing preview was not rendering when line to cursor was disabled
  • Trips saved in the Trip Builder showed "-" under Rte and Trk in the trip list
  • Some trips showed a travel time of Infinity
  • A renamed pinned trip did not update in the list until unpinned and repinned
  • Elevation chart formatting
• Map
  • The Hillshade slider did not affect the higher-detail US hillshade
  • Gates disappeared when starred
  • Editing a Place's type made its icon disappear from the map
• GPX
  • Recorded tracks read too long, and their average speed was off with them
  • Exports of trips originally imported from Garmin could produce a file no app could open. Affected files are repaired automatically when re-imported
• Tablet
  • Sliding the search results jumped the view to the result that was first touched
  • Long-press now shows the context menu instead of the magnifier
• General
  • A page could come back unstyled after a deploy (seen most often on Safari). It now reloads itself once to recover
