About Rumo
Built by one rider, chasing the roads the usual routes miss.
I'm Jason — Rumo's founder and sole developer. Design, engineering, infrastructure and support: it's all me. The goal is simple: spend less time fighting tools and more time getting out there.
Why I built it
Every trip I wanted to ride started the same way: hours of zooming around a map that had decided, on my behalf, that the interesting roads weren't worth finding until I was practically on top of them. The tracks were there in the data. They just weren't on the screen.
So the first thing Rumo ever did was put them there — minor roads, tracks, the surface under the line — visible at a glance, at the zoom where you're still deciding where to go. Everything since has followed from that one idea: the plan should tell you what the day will actually be like, before you commit to it.
It's a one-person project, deliberately. The people asking for things are riders with the same problem I had, so what someone runs into on a trip is what gets built next — and when you write in, you're writing to the person who wrote the code.

How it's built
In the open, with the people who ride it. Feedback shapes the roadmap directly, the feature-request board is public, and improvements come from real trips rather than a marketing plan.
